Case Files by AML Penalties This week, we highlight the case of Abdulrasheed Maina, the former Chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Nigeria, who was sentenced for money laundering. Maina and his relatives conspired to launder funds using fictitious names and multiple bank accounts. The investigations revealed that the illicit funds were laundered through the United Bank of Africa and Fidelity Bank and used to purchase properties in Abuja.
