Glassdoor Is The ‘Most Preferred’ Job Search Experience

One of the most important things for a job seeker is to find the right job with as little stress and time spent as possible. Now, finding a job that fits your life has never been easier.

Glassdoor gives job seekers all the jobs and all the information in one place. As the #2 job site in the U.S.1, Glassdoor helps more than 45 million people every month to search for jobs across all industries and at every level, from intern to executive. In a new survey conducted by Harris Poll, respondents were shown five blinded online job search sites and 34% of people say they prefer Glassdoor over the competition, including LinkedIn, Indeed and Monster2.

The top three reasons cited among current job seekers who prefer Glassdoor are:

  1. It’s easier to read (69%)
  2. It provides the information to make a more informed decision (53%)
  3. It’s more engaging (41%)

This data supports what we have heard directly from job seekers about what matters most to them. Therefore, over the past year, we have improved our job search experience to not only meet, but exceed, expectations.

The same survey revealed that 93% of job seekers today want to be informed about all aspects of a company prior to accepting a job.  And that’s just what we’re giving them. On Glassdoor, job seekers can view the latest job openings & descriptions on one screen, as well as see company-specific workplace insights from employees, and can explore engaging videos and photos showing a unique view into the cultures of companies.

The survey also showed nearly 3 in 4 (72%) of employees/job seekers say the salary & compensation package is a top consideration3. However, one of the most frustrating things about applying to a new job is how long you have to wait before you can even broach the topic of salary. With Glassdoor’s new Salary Estimates in job listings, that frustration is a thing of the past.

“Job seekers consistently report that they want more pay information before applying to a job. They don’t want to waste time applying and interviewing for jobs that don’t meet their needs and expectations. We believe salary estimates in job listings will better match the right people with the right employers by removing the guesswork that surrounds pay when applying to a job,”  said Heather Gordon Friedland, Glassdoor chief product officer.
