Today, Glassdoor announced our 2016 Employees’ Choice Awards for the 50 Highest Rated CEOs, according to U.S.-based employees – and this year, four of the winning CEOs are women. We want to highlight this because there is still a long road ahead and much to be done to achieve true gender parity at the highest levels of workplace leadership. For perspective, there are only 20 women CEOs among those leading S&P 500 companies, meaning of these 500 CEOs, only 4% are women. On the 2016 Glassdoor list, four of the Top 50 CEOs are women, representing 8% of our list, and outpacing the women CEO representation on the S&P 500 by double. These four women are leading the way for others and providing optimism for the next generation of future women leaders.
The women CEOs who are being honored with this award have earned a 93%-95% approval rating based on feedback from their U.S. employees over the past 12 months*, and head up companies with more than 1,000 employees.
So who are these outstanding women leaders and what makes them so highly rated among their own employees?
