Today, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is at Glassdoor, and he’s here to help us announce big news! Glassdoor has sealed the deal on a new office in Chicago. Our new digs give us plenty of room to grow… and we are hiring!
Glassdoor Founder and CEO, Robert Hohman, is announcing our new digs at a press conference with the Mayor as well as one of Glassdoor’s earliest Chicago employees, Christina Brady, a sales manager who transitioned to the tech sector after working in financial planning.
The 51,500 square foot office space is located in a fantastic new building in the Fulton Market neighborhood; our Midwest home will be located at 1330 West Fulton Street. Currently under construction, the new office will be ready in mid to late 2017.
In the meantime, Glassdoor’s Chicago team will be “moving on up” from our current temporary space on North Carpenter to a larger temporary office at 113 N May, also in the Fulton Market District, to make room for our fast-growing team.
Fulton Market is a perfect location for our innovative company to expand. Employees will love working in an area with a comfortable mix of residential and business uses with easy access to public transportation, including a CTA “L” stop six blocks away. There are also numerous great restaurants and shops just steps from Glassdoor.
Another added perk for employees who commute from outside the city: the 1330 West Fulton Street building will provide shuttle bus service to nearby commuter train stations.
Our permanent Chicago office will have capacity for 400 people, and we plan to double our team by the end of this year to more than 100 employees. Glassdoor currently employs nearly 600 people across our offices in Mill Valley, Ohio, London, Dublin and now Chicago.
The new Chicago team will continue our mission to help people everywhere find a job and company they love. The Glassdoor marketplace combines access to the latest job openings with millions of user-generated reviews, ratings, salary reports and other workplace insights for more than 540,000 companies around the world.
