A few of the main duties of a dog trainer are identifying problem behaviors, teaching the owner methods to train their dog, developing a training plan for the dog, and creating a welcoming environment. They also have to understand the owner and dog's needs.

A dog trainer does not need any experience but should have a high school diploma or GED. One of the most important skills that a dog trainer will have is their ability to work with any type of dog. Another skill is time management as the dog trainer will need to make sure that all dogs are taken care of and trained effectively. They also need to be able to multitask by working with several different dogs.
