What is a Search Engine Evaluator?

As a search engine evaluator, you will analyze search results to ensure they are accurate and relevant. This will include web search evaluation, video evaluation and more. Search Engine Evaluators conduct research and provide feedback that measures the accuracy of web search results, how useful the results pages are, and the relevance of the search results.

A high school diploma is required for this position, but a post-secondary degree is preferred. This is an internet-heavy position, so you will need working knowledge of computers and the internet.

Responsibilities for Search Engine Evaluator

  • Analyze a variety of web search engines including Google, Bing, and Yahoo

Qualifications for Search Engine Evaluator

  • Must pass a qualification exam
  • 1-2 years of search engine experience preferred, but not required
  • In-depth familiarity with search engines and web search
  • Excellent research and analytic skills
  • Proficiency in computer operating software and the internet
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) preferred
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
