Job Description

We have just completed our first round of Angel Investment and are looking for passionate, entrepreneurial, intelligent engineer to expand the business and continue to develop new value for our customers. As CTO, you will lead the development work on an android application, working closely with our web development team, as well as managing any future hires as part of your team.

AgriWebb is an Australian startup poised to disrupt the over $1 trillion livestock agriculture industry through the use of innovative technology. The business combines an online “Ebay” style marketplace for sales, with an intuitive management mobile application, which are both currently under development. Additionally, we have already completed the development of cutting edge sensor technology which is currently being tested.

We have a half dozen high value customers who have signed up for the beta trial with many more having expressed interest. Having carefully studied and tested the market and with sales channels ready, we are primed for our release into this high growth industry and are looking for high-level talent to join our team.


  • Overseeing the beta testing of the app and continued development based on customer feedback
  • Taking the lead on future updates and different versions of the app
  • Working hand in hand with the website developer for app/website integration
  • Leading the expansion of the development team if and when necessary

Minimum Technical Qualifications

  • BS in computer science or equivalent practical experience
  • Excellent understanding and working knowledge of Java, (J2SE and J2EE)
  • Deep architectural understanding of web applications and application servers i.e. WebSphere, Jetty, JBoss, Tomcat
  • Good knowledge in some back end persistence technologies and frameworks i.e. Spring, Hibernate, JPA
  • Experience using or a desire to learn next generation build systems ( Gradle )
  • Knowledge and experience using distributed versioning control systems. i.e. Git, Perforce and Mercurial
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in developing applications using the Android SDK and ADT, and Android Studio
  • Ability to create effective relationships, influence and collaborate internally
  • Superior creative and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Initiative and the ability to work independently

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 years of working experience
  • At least one working app on the app market
  • Knowledge and experience with open source Android frameworks such as:

o Android Annotations

o MenuDrawer

o Actionbar Sherlock

o Nineolds Animation
