Communications Manager Atlas Technologies, Inc. is leading the way in the USCGs newest networking technologies and systems. Our immediate opening is for a Communications Manager and will provide senior-level counsel to all parts of the organization through a variety of methods, channels and techniques. This individual should work with high intensity and integrity, possess intellectual curiosity, and demonstrate both leadership abilities and a passion for excellence.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Compile, write, edit, and distribute information necessary for employees to more easily perform their job duties, manage their employee administrative responsibilities, and engage with agency culture and with colleagues.
  • Create and develop traditional and digital visual communication products and graphic design elements to support strategic communication.
  • Work with intranet page owners and content developers to ensure they present in appropriate intranet locations accurate and timely information that conforms to agency standards.
  • Coordinate with committees and teams to produce annual all-staff meetings and related employee events.
  • Consult with and assist divisions, units and committees with developing and distributing other internal communications, as needed.
  • Manage and guide all-staff events to inform, engage and strengthen alignment with agency key priorities and objectives.
  • Provide editorial oversight, technical assistance and writing for larger-scale communication projects. These projects may include print and/or electronic media.
  • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of publication schedules and coordinate with unit-level personnel to assure conformance with deadlines, review protocols and publication formatting standards.
  • Train and advise agency staff on the most effective means of producing assigned work that achieves editorial goals while working within resource constraints.
  • Update and expand the agency style guidelines for policy white papers, and internal and external websites. Edit copy for consistency and caliber of policy messaging, analytical rigor, accuracy, clarity, appropriate editorial tone, and format requirements of the agency.
  • Confer with employees regarding problem areas and rewrite as necessary. Provide trainings and one-on-one coaching to key agency staff to improve writing skills and communications project management.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
  • Strong customer relations, documentation and oral communication skills
  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality


  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations and 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • Strong analytical, communication and quantitative skills
  • Extreme proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
