PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Data entry clerks are responsible for inputting a high volume of data from multiple sources into a database, ensuring that all necessary data is being entered and maintained. In addition, data entry clerks must verify and edit data as needed. Aside from the primary duty of data entry, many data entry clerks also perform other general office tasks like scanning documents and answering phones.

Data entry clerks must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). Much of the training for data entry clerks happens on-the-job. Beyond that, they must be computer savvy, have an eye for detail, and possess quick typing skills.

JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking to hire Data Entry Clerks for a federal project. Data Entry Clerks will receive and complete training on the review of correspondence, data entry requirements in the SalesForce Correspondence System (SFCS) and downloading and uploading correspondence from the SFCS to the FNS SharePoint site. Carefully review all incoming pieces correspondences to determine the nature and intent of the communication and determine where the correspondence should be directed. Extract data from each piece of correspondence and input data in all required fields in the SFCS.Download correspondence required to be transferred to the FNS and upload it in the FNS SharePoint site. Ensure all data fields in the SFCS are completed with 97% accuracy. Project is quota driven.

The Data Entry Clerk, assigned computer, and surroundings shall comply with security and privacy policies, standards, clearances, and certifications related to the handling, processing, and managing sensitive government documents listed in the background investigations section.

Responsibilities for Data Entry Clerk:

Work from various source documents that may have been coded and that may require additional selecting, coding, or interpreting of data to be entered. Such work may require the application of experience and judgment in selecting procedures to be followed and in searching for, interpreting, selecting, or coding items to be entered from a variety of source documents.
Operates keyboard-controlled data entry device to transcribe data into a form suitable for computer processing.
Operates word processing equipment to compile, type, revise, combine, edit, print, and store documents.
Reads instructions accompanying material or follows verbal instructions to determine format and content required.
Checks completed document on screen for spelling errors, using software.
Proofreads and edits documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation and format.
This work may also include hand-correcting of data entry information.
Verify or perform work involved in abstracting and/or coding information from schedules, questionnaires, reports, documents, and other written or printed material according to instructions and related codes involving words, numerical and alphabetical symbols.
Maintained electronic files. This involves opening, sorting, marking, tabulating, and filing various documents.

Qualifications:

Must be able to clear a federal background check.
Must be able to process 75 complex forms per hour with 97% accuracy. Approximately 8 minutes per document.
