Technical Documentation Writer

Overview:

Brooksource is seeking an experienced Technical Documentation Writer to join our client who is a leader in the Financial Risk and Professional Services Industry. The Consumer Benefit Solutions Team is enhancing their policy and premium administration mainframe platform to a selected SaaS platform to ensure efficiency and future state functionality.

As the Documentation Writer, you will be responsible for understanding the current state of the end to end policy documentation and administration process, and act as the curator for writing content through user stories and written operational process flows to ensure client onboarding methods, documentation and data policy integrations are modernized from end to end to meet the future state needs of the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

Work with Product Owners, Business Owners and Platform SMEs to understand the current state of the legacy platform and “day in the life” of the system
Thoroughly digesting recent system documentation and outlining where improvements can be made
Work with training teams to deliver documentation information related to premium policies and premium administration systems
Understand how the documentation is structured in order to train end users on new platform functionality
In depth understanding of written operational processes according to business specifications
Analyze and interpret previous current state documents to generate a customized plan document for distribution to Internal Operational Team members
Involved in organizing, facilitating, and conducting insightful interviews with end users to capture insightful documentation for current and future platform states
Write documentation and content that captures operational processes and underlying improvement areas for ease of platform use and function
Identify, research, develop and amend documents to support and comply with organizational requirements, client requests, according to new platform function
Assist in education and informational communications to internal and external clients about existing and new plan compliance requirements

Desired Background:

Five plus years (5+) of experience in documentation writing in relation to business process flows in enterprise environments
Comprehensive knowledge of content writing for end users in relation to premium administration and policy administration management strongly preferred
Experience conducting end user interviews to determine current state and documentation for future state of specific platform use optimization
Knowledge of health insurance or similar domain strongly preferred
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general administration and premium policies and technical procedures
Ability to organize material according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Effective business correspondence skills, including issuing prompt and detailed accurate follow-ups
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Commitment to a team-oriented environment
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe Pro
Strong client focus, and service-oriented
Strong planning and organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
