The Energy Engineer II has primary responsibility for pre and post-sales engineering services which includes site assessment and financial analysis, detailed Engineering Site Analysis (ESA) , deployment and QA. The Energy Engineer II will support the Project Manager and Project Engineer to ensure consistency and quality throughout the pre and post-sales processes.
Lead, direct, and prepare Site Financial Analysis (SFA) using computer simulations to calculate energy usage and load profiles
Make initial project pricing recommendations based on SFA
Present site analysis and estimates to customer technical team
Conduct detailed on-site ESA; Prepare written ESA report; Participate in ESA results technical review meetings as well as any follow-up meetings
Make final project pricing recommendations based on ESA
Compile project documentation for deployment kick-off including 8760 energy analysis, controls sequence and methods documentation, PowerPoint decks and statements of work; Lead project kick-off meetings
Participate in project QA to determine product functionality as well as validate data and performance
Develop reports for customers on existing and potential chiller plant or HVAC system performance and potential resource savings
Aid in analyzing and troubleshooting plant and/or BAS performance
Work in close partnership with an Account Executive (AE) to close business.
4 year Mechanical Engineering degree
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
4-5 years HVAC experience (chilled water systems design a plus). Energy-related industry experience also a plus.
Experience retrofitting constant speed plants to variable speed plants, including variable primary flow systems desired
Proficient with MS Office Software tools including, but not limited to Excel and Visio in order to generate reports, presentations and analytical spreadsheets/calculations
Good communication skills and excellent customer satisfaction skills
Eagerness to learn and implement new approaches to operating chilled water plants
Ability to present engineering analyses to customers and distribution partners
Experience in high-level communication to key customers in previous jobs preferable
Ability to educate clients on the benefits of new technology
Knowledge of performance contracting industry a plus
25-50% travel required (mostly domestic, but international travel may also become necessary as the company grows)
Experience with modeling tools like eQuest, EnergyPlus or DOE-2 a plus

Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (C.M.V.P)
LEED AP BD&C
Building Energy Modeling Professional (B.E.M.P)
Experience working as a pre-sales engineer to close business.
