Job purpose
The Family Support Manager will oversee the Family Support Specialist (FSS) role group to assist with development of parent engagement skills and activities. The FSM is an individual with multi-systems knowledge and an appreciation of the importance of the parent peer specialist in the lives of our clients and families. The Family Support Manager will work with PEP programs to develop the FSS role.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Align practice and work with the agency mission, vision, guiding principles, trauma informed care, and Re-Ed philosophy
  • Modeling and coaching skills to the Family Support Specialist when engaging families
  • Research, select, and development of resources and programs to enhance delivery of services to families
  • Provide support and direction to Family Support Specialist
  • Interface and collaborate with PEP Clinical Supervisors within the Day Treatment and Case Management Programs
  • Facilitation of trainings: Parent/Professional Partnership Training, Conscious Discipline
  • Professional development training focusing on Ethics and Boundaries
  • Education of Family Support Specialist regarding Trauma Informed Care and family engagement
  • Teaching self-care models to support FSS’s in the role of peer specialist
  • Participation in benefit trainings
  • Monthly monitoring of PEP resource room
  • Coordination with community partners
  • Work collaboratively with Fiscal department to access Cleveland Furniture Bank
  • Participation in community outreach activities/meetings: Family Advocacy, NAMI, The Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health, ADAMHS Benefit Meetings, Family Leadership Network in SST 3
  • Neighborhood Collaboratives
  • Work Collaboratively with PEP Quality Assurance department in collecting and analyzing family services outcomes
  • Utilizing outcomes to enhance family programming at centers
  • Participation in Student Services Meetings, as necessary
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Mental Health licensed preferred
  • Experience with multi-systems and/or system navigations, with lived experience preferred
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making skills and utilize good judgement
