For our PWC/Jet Ski and Boating section, Divein.com is looking for a Writer to join our team on a freelance basis.

We review maritime equipment and write how-to guides within the recreational boating and sailing world. Right now, we're looking for someone to help us cover our growing PWC/Jet Ski section.

The ideal candidate will need to have a sharp eye for detail, a critical mind, and excellent writing skills.

You need to:

Own a PWC/Jet Ski
Have an interest in the world of PWC
Be able to critically assess products you’ll be reviewing on a technical scale
Be someone who demonstrates an above-average command of written English
Be comfortable creating digital communication solutions

Maybe you’re a journalist or have worked in marketing. Maybe you’re an English lit graduate with an affinity for the wilderness or the ocean.

We love the activities in which we create content about and so should you.

Your duties will take you beyond the computer screen, demanding you take the gear to the water and take some pictures and video of you out testing the gear.

Multi-tasking and mental agility are traits that will serve you well at Divein as our business model develops in this dynamic industry.

Responsibilities:

Research and write articles on PWC related topics
Create in-depth guides that will help our readers
Take gear out for testing from time to time.
Create editorial-quality images and videos of the products you’re testing

Qualifications:

You know your PWC inside and out
Interest and knowledge about gear
Strong writing and editing skills
Proven ability to work independently and juggle daily, medium and long-range deadlines
Self-managing and able to collaborate effectively within a creative team of writers and designers
A sense of humor

Freelance writing and how it works:

You’ll be assigned a topic within the PWC niche and get a short brief of what we expect of the article and what you should include.

For the how-to guides, we expect you to use your knowledge and do in-depth research on best practices, new trends, etc.

For the review and product guides, you’ll do in-depth research on the product and comparable products. Our SEO brief will then be applied to create the reviews. Products are both used as stand-alone reviews and combined in top-10 type guides.
