LNP/Medical Assistant

Requirements

• Must be recognized as a Certified LNP, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified RN by a national accrediting body
• Must maintain Certification and the CEU requirements for Certification
• Basic knowledge of medications
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic typing skills (40 words per minute)
• Basic computer skills
• Multi-tasking skills
• Ability to perform detailed tasks accurately
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, medical staff and co-workers
• Support practice missions and goals

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with prescription renewal requests and prior authorizations for medications
• Call patient with lab and/or diagnostic report results at the direction of the provider
• Precertification of testing
• Collects and accurately records comprehensive health information in accordance with office procedure
• Triage patients including vitals, medication reconciliation, medical history, etc.
• Prepares and administers medications, and immunizations in accordance with policy, procedures, and established recommendations
• Discuss and Preform all Standing Orders according to policy
• Works with Clinical Care Coordinator to manage, track and support patients with chronic illnesses or special needs
• Develop relationships with patients as an integral member of a care team
• Perform and/or assist the physician with diagnostic tests at the physicians direction
• Perform and/or assist the physician with medical procedures at the physicians direction
• Patient education as directed by the physician
• Work with other members of the team in a pleasant and courteous manner
• Support the practice mission and goal
• Other Tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

• Medical Office Outpatient: 1 year (Preferred)
• Working with Medication Prior Authorization: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• LNP or Medical Assistant Certification (Preferred)
