Maintenance Technician / Electrician

How You Will Impact Ox Industries-Aurora:

Primary duties include providing safe and timely Electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of multiple operating machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have electrical experience and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair. Have a strong commitment to working safely, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex machinery and have a desire to advance within the company.

Responsibilities: Ability to repair/maintain various manufacturing equipment, follow specific directions, operate power hand tools, and other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean work environment. Ability to read a tape measure and have basic math and computer skills. Ability to work safely and comply with all safety regulations. Ability to navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift. Required to work daily overtime, weekends, work, and various rotating shifts depending on your position.

Essential Functions:

Experienced with 480 VAC, 3 phases along with lower voltages.
Able to trouble shoot and repair semi-automated production equipment.
Experience with trouble shooting and PM of large DC and AC motors.
Able to use electrical test equipment including voltmeter, amprobe and megger.
Familiar with National Electrical Code and other local safety codes.
Able to read and interpret English blueprints and equipment technical manuals.
Able to perform electrical construction projects and repair.
Able to perform maintenance electrical/mechanic work.
Basic knowledge of hydraulics. Masonry construction experience is a plus.
Ability to change and check fuses, circuit breakers, overloads, install starters, and disconnects, and trouble shoot machines.
Able to make conduit runs and pull wires.
Able to follow safety rules; perform job.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shifts & On Call. Work daily overtime, weekends, and various rotating shifts depending on your position.

Requirements:

HIGH School degree or GED Equivalent.
Desired experience of 2 to 3 years as electrician in a high-volume manufacturing setting working with PLC, Print Reading, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Troubleshooting skills.
Able to lift up to 50lbs.
Able to push and pull up to 50lbs.
Able to tolerate heat and cold.
Able to stand most of the day.
Able to walk, bend, turn, and squat throughout the day.
Able to work around strong odors (chemicals, paper).
Able to wear personal protective equipment for eyes, head, face, feet, hands, or full body.
