Job Description

cPanel is seeking a dynamic, creative, and organized individual that will take our events to the next level. The Event Coordinator will research, plan, and execute events that include tradeshows, our annual cPanel Conference, parties and other events. The right invidual will be able to hit the ground running and be able to provide cPanel with both creative & unique ideas that deliver brand awareness, establish better relationships with clients and provide a true experience that is beyond the norm.

These are the duties for which you'll be responsible
  • Responsible for establishing successful goals and objectives for the cPanel Conference and other external events and measuring their successes and/or failures

  • Negotiates rates with vendors such at hotels and other prospective cPanel event locations

  • Responsible for providing both attendees and internal staff with a highly organized and enjoyable event experience

  • Responsible for coordinating internal and external speakers for both the cPanel Conference and external events

  • Responsible for negotiating hotel food, beverage, and hotel room rates for both cPanel Conference and other external events
  • Researches, creates, and works within a set budget
  • Researches and prepares proposals for new event opportunities which cPanel may host, participate in, or sponsor

  • Assists in messaging, branding, and communicating to new and existing customers/Partners about upcoming events not limited to conferences, trade shows, and other networking functions

  • Works with the Marketing Department in creating well-written and effective event-related website copy and company literature
  • Responsible for creating event-related marketing presentations, print materials, and newsletters 

  • Responsible for effectively communicating and planning all aspects of co-branded events with cPanel Partners
  • Responsible for owning event logistics, negotiations, and communications with media, sponsors and exhibitors, and vendors

  • Works with the Marketing Department in writing press releases and public communication about upcoming events not limited to conferences, trade shows, and other networking functions
  • Works with Marketing Department to create buzz about upcoming cPanel events via press releases and social/print media
  • Adheres to the policies and procedures of the company

These are the skills, requirements, and experience we require

  • Event Planning - experience with event planning logistics, including but not limited to, communication and/or negotiations with vendors (hotels, exhibit halls, reception/party facilities, etc)
  • Trade Show Logistics - experience planning and executiving all functions required to successfully exhibit at trade shows and conferences (booth design/construction, planning and working within a set budget, creation of brand messaging and event goals, scheduling employees to specific event roles, etc)
  • Oral Communication - able to speak clearly and effectively in positive or negative situation to all internal and external customers
  • Public Communication - superior writing skills to effectively present our product to the public; able to communicate effectively in all written work, utilizing proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; able to craft website copy, press releases, and news articles
  • Time Management - able to use time effectively in an unsupervised fashion, purusing other other activities when regular duties have reduced in volume; able to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Creative ability - able to utilize creativity to work in conjunction with the design team
  • Planning/Organizing skills - able to priortize work activities, use time efficiently, plan, organize, and work through large projects in a self-motivated manner
  • Computer knowledge - strong knowledge of word processing software; strong knowledge of electronic communication systems; able to navigate the computer and internet competently
  • Attention to detail - able to accomplish tasks accurately with concern for all of the areas involved, no matter how small
  • Adaptability - able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
  • Problem solving skills - able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully; able to apply independent judgement on regular basis when making decisions
  • Interpersonal skills - able to interact with co-workers and customers in professional and effective manner
  • Math ability - able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages as well as creating and working with various sized budgets
  • Education/experience - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Public Relations; one to three years of event planning experience
  • Travel - Domestic and international travel will be required
