RESPONSIBILITIES FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT FOR PRIVATE ALLERGY CLINIC:

• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills
• Contributes positively to a team of other staff and providers
• Triages patients by taking vital signs, pulmonary function tests and taking a medication history
• Calls in prescriptions
• Takes phone notes and returns phone calls for questions regarding all aspects of the medical practice
• Administers SC, ID and IM injections
• Administers allergy injections and monitors for adverse reactions
• Performs allergy skin testing
• Phlebotomy, including prepping and ordering blood tests, for adults and children
• Patient education and reviewing lab results with patients
• Must type well and be comfortable with Word and Excel
• Must have excellent communication (both oral and written) skills and math skills
• Schedules appointments for new and established patients
• Schedules referred patients and radiographic procedures
• Prepares superbills
• Responds to emails
• Checks patients in and out
• Collects copays
• Helps with the flow of patients into the clinic
• Possesses excellent filing skills
• Handles correspondence to and from other physicians
• Must multi-task, be flexible, and show initiative
• Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize workload
• Will consider MA, LPN and RN or college graduate with clinical experience
