Terms of Internship: Full-time and Part-time Internships Available

Reports to: Global Vegetarian Support Manager

Position Location: Remote

Internship Objective:

To identify and reach members of the public who are near a critical tipping point between eating meat and going vegetarian, and provide support and resources to tip them toward vegetarian eating

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Reply to incoming emails from individuals who are attempting to reduce or eliminate animal product consumption
  • Monitor social media outlets and public forums to identify individuals at or near a tipping point to provide them with MFA resources, and to stimulate community discussion around vegetarian eating
  • Provide customer service to individuals browsing The Green Plate website through an interactive chat function
  • Record and review analytics related to email and social media response work to ensure goals are met and work is completed in a timely manner
  • Carry out other activities, as assigned by supervisor
Internship Requirements:
  • Ability to work extremely quickly at basic computer tasks such as typing, scrolling, clicking around a webpage, etc., for a prolonged period of time
  • Very strong work ethic
  • High level of attentiveness
  • Good communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of vegan and vegetarian dietary issues
  • Adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
  • Support for MFAs philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate Mercy For Animals positions on issues
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organization
Additional Information:

Limited full-time and part-time positions are available year-round. You must be at least 18 years old to apply, and we require a commitment of at least two months. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so please apply one month or more before you'd like to start an internship.

Training will be provided by MFA and prior experience is not required.

Youll leave with hands-on experience in online vegan advocacy and social media, as well as connections with a diverse group of animal protection advocates.
