Job Description •Conducts process research, process development, and process scale-up and validation, for introduction into manufacturing of new medical device products.
•Investigates and evaluates existing technology and/or designs new methodology, machines, fixtures, or processes, as needed, for manufacture of new medical device products at various scales during development and through commercialization.
•Plans, conducts and provides technical direction to one or more projects of major importance and difficulty, where the complexity of technical problems involved requires the broad application of advanced engineering knowledge and advanced knowledge of medical device manufacturing.
•Drives manufacturing site activities, in whole or part, as member of new product development teams.
•May manage programs or provide other engineering leadership.
•May act as the project level interface between R&D and Manufacturing.
•Establishes engineering capability, processes, and/or test methods supporting the development and scale-up for manufacturing of new medical device products.
•Works as a member of cross-functional project teams, across R&D and manufacturing sites, to assure on time achievement of project milestones while meeting key business requirements such as COGS, cycle time, capacity, etc.
•Provides engineering direction, determining and developing approach to solutions by coordinating multiple resources to solve complex problems.
•Provides authoritative technical or professional advice and recommendations to influence internal and/or external contacts.
•Internal and external audience is diverse and interaction mainly requires interpretation of complex information.
•Audience may be outside own area and unfamiliar with subject.
•Designs major elements of a manufacturing process.
•Uses intermediate level analytical techniques and/or previous experience to identify the most appropriate new option or to adapt or improve existing approaches.
•Assures compliance to customer and non-customer requirements, including manufacturing site requirements, during transfer of new products to production.
•Key contributor to design reviews.
•Ensures regulatory / statutory / legislative compliance for all project work.
•Acts as a mentor in the R&D and MS&T organizations.
•Decisions impact short and long term.
•Requires awareness of the workings of the business beyond own team and some familiarity with the external environment as it affects own part of the organization.

Minimum requirements •Bachelor's degree
•English
•Minimum 6 or more years of related experience.
•Extensive project management, process management, and problem solving experience, in a medical device manufacturing context.
•Extensive knowledge and practical experience in fixture/equipment design and equipment and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ), in a medical device setting.
•Expert knowledge of ISO, FDA, MDD and other regulations applicable to the design and development of medical device/science/technology.
•Well developed and highly effective interpersonal and presentation skills.
•History of interaction with senior management on complex matters.
•Considerable organizational awareness (e.g., inter-relationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and (preferably) in global teams.
•Ability to coach and develop associates.
