Job Description

Our client is a Medical Device Innovator that specializes in the development of flexible robotic platforms, used for a variety of single-site surgical and interventional applications. Their goal is to bring minimally invasive access to many parts of the anatomy that were once impossible to reach.


• Project management of full product development cycle of state-of-the-art robotic system with emphasis on software development effort, but ultimately delivering a complete product. Apply company design control procedures and industry standards (ISO/IEC 62304) to support submissions to various Regulatory entities.
• Management and coordination of internal and external resources enabling timely execution of Main Project Plan. Generation of development project plans for coordination of project activities, including design, development, testing, laboratory activities and demonstrations.
• Participation as group facilitator and direct management and documentation of requirements, INPUTS, OUTPUTS, specifications and test protocols/reports in support of Verification and Validation activities.
• Provide direction to Engineers in support of timely and accurate completion of project tasks and in accordance to company procedures.
• Contribute to documentation of project activities in Design History File. Participate as well as conduct reviews per company Design Control process.
• Create IP to strengthen the company’s position in the fields of surgical robotics and minimally invasive surgery.
• Other duties as assigned.


• Significant exposure to medical device development, preferably with frequent surgeon interaction and experience with pre-clinical laboratory efforts.
• Must have 10+ years industrial experience in development of products with moderate to high complexity (8+ years with an advanced degree). Minimum 3 years of project management experience or management of significant project components.
• Proven capability to lead cross-functional teams comprised of internal and external resources for Research, Development and Testing.
• Proven ability to create and deliver products that meet clinical/user needs and meet current performance standards.
• Guide team and Project Effort through all phases of the product development lifecycle including: input, design output, verification, validation, and transfer.
• Small company and/or start-up experience is desired.

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
• Advanced degree preferred: MS or ME
• Proven experience with Design Control Process and management of sub-teams or significant Project efforts.
