Position: Public Relations Manager
Decision Lens is a cloud-based prioritization and resource allocation software. It provides a solution to organizations’ critical resource allocation decision-making processes in research and development, capital planning, vendor selection, enterprise risk management and professional sports drafting (think Moneyball). The software enables increased collaboration, transparency, and efficiency in each client organization. Clients include Johnson & Johnson, Kraft, Pfizer, Genentech, and GlaxoSmithKline, Joint Staff, Navy, Army, USDA, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), City of Houston, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and Phoenix Sky Harbor.

Decision Lens is looking for a talented Public and Press Relations person with experience and success in comprehensive public communications to join a growing company and a growing marketing department. As Decision Lens thrives and transforms from a single-software-platform company to a multi-product line software company, marketing will be a big focus of investment and energy. Accordingly, getting the word out through the media and the press will be at the front end of making that transition successful. Key responsibilities will include identifying opportunities for public communications, writing effective public communications and press releases, and managing the Decision Lens news cycles.

A good candidate will have experience and a history of outstanding performance in business-to-business PR, hopefully in a software-as-a-service environment, with a passion for successful, public marketing campaigns. He or she will be part of a growing marketing team with a new focus on generating buzz and activity around Decision Lens products.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):
 Developing and maintaining the Decision Lens PR Strategy – timing, content, and outlets
 Managing the “news calendar” for Decision Lens – announcements, releases, interviews, etc.
 Identifying opportunities for, researching the data for, and writing clear and effective press releases and public announcements
 Identification of and building relationships with public outlets for placing Decision Lens content, including general media, industry press, journals, and professional membership organizations
 Identification of and building relationships with private media outlets for placing Decision Lens content, including internal, journals, newsletters, and magazines
 Managing relationships with business media outlets and placing both earned and purchased media spots
 Managing work with industry analysts both at industry research organizations such as Gartner and Forrester, and also with specific vertical industry thought leadership organizations such as APTA, AASHTO, etc. Will require close coordinated work with Decision Lens executives who will be the primary for these relationships.
 Identifying potential corporate awards for Decision Lens and managing the application process
 Identifying potential speaking or interview opportunities for Decision Lens executives and product experts
 Tracking and reporting on the success of PR and Media efforts with a focus on placements, prominence, and reach.
 Researching and writing articles for publications
 Researching and crafting new potential stories and angles that will generate media interest
 Supporting the marketing department with contributions and edits to other marketing assets like white papers and brochures
 Aiding in the development of product messaging for use across all marketing channels – web channels, sales channels, marketing assets, etc.
 Conducting market research to determine solid and new marketing channels, key product needs, and important customer desires
 Regular engagement with internal customer and product experts to stay on top of potential story and announcement opportunities

Job Requirements:
 2-3 years’ experience with a BS/BA Degree
 Strong experience in corporate PR and media relations, at an agency or from the corporate side
 Demonstrated outstanding communication, writing, and presentation skills
 Strong experience in marketing content development, especially in a Software-as-a-Service (Saas), renewal-based business model
 Effectively work independently as well as in a team environment
 Manage projects and work under tight deadlines
 Ability to learn new technologies and tools
 Experience with PR and Media tools like LexisNexis, Factiva, Cision, or Vocus a big plus
 Experience with Decision Lens software is not required, but a plus

Travel is not a requirement of the position, but there may be infrequent occasions to travel to support Decision Lens events or attend industry events.
