QUALITY- Manager Continuous Improvement

This position is located in the Greater Cleveland, OH, area at the Warrensville Technical Center supporting the Performance Coatings Group Quality organization. This high exposure position will have interaction with Quality, Technical, Marketing, Operations, Accounting, and Sales teams to improve product quality. The incumbent will train Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) classes, lead high impact Continuous Improvement projects, mentor DFSS certification candidates, interface with sales and technical teams to meet the business needs of strategic customers, support and lead Accelerated Root Cause investigations, and help identify key areas of opportunity for the business.

  • Responsible for the support, development, and deployment of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), DFSS Champion, Accelerated Root Cause (ARC), and Lean training programs for Performance Coatings Group (PCG), with focus on supporting Research and Development
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques, Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), Multivariate Analysis, etc. to the evaluation and resolution of technical problems
  • Teach / mentor employees in the understanding of the DFSS, DMAIC, and Lean methodologies to deliver quantifiable performance improvement
  • Identify projects that align with business / functional goals and strategies globally
  • Lead continuous improvement (CI) projects of significant size and scope
  • Coach / mentor DFSS Green Belt candidates to ensure timely completion of projects and candidate certifications
  • Act independently to provide expert, hands-on implementation of Six Sigma / Lean methods and related tools to identify and capitalize on CI opportunities for the business
  • Conduct complex data analysis, including use of Excel / Business Objects / Dataiku / Tableau / other data science tools
  • Participate on certification review board for certification of DFSS Green Belt candidates
  • Responsible for developing, leading, coaching, and executing CI deployment plan and associated projects to achieve organization / division objectives
  • Drive acceleration of projects / ideas and leveraging of best practices
  • Influence organization by initiating and driving change and process improvement; cultivate a culture and mindset of continuous improvement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field
  • 4+ years of execution of projects in CI/Lean/Six Sigma, or related Quality experience
  • 6+ years business / operations / technical experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Strong communication / presentation skills
  • Creation and achievement of effective measures
  • Coaching through project completions
  • Highly proficient in complex problem resolution and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Minitab software or highly proficient in other statistical software

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Best of Breed systems knowledge (e.g., Business Objects, Discovery, Product Vision, OBIEE, MES, Tableau, etc.)
  • Microsoft apps knowledge (e.g., Power Automate, Lists, etc.)
  • Technical mastery (i.e., expert) of Design for Six Sigma and/or Six Sigma tools and methodologies including DFSS, DMAIC, and/or Lean
