POSITION: Quantitative Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Cuyahoga Land Bank seeks a qualified Quantitative Analyst (QA) to assist in the creation of a comprehensive, collaborative, data-driven Land Development Strategy and to model the economic impact of the Cuyahoga Land Bank’s production activities. The QA will be responsible for transforming raw data into useful insights and recommendations through extensive use of statistical and spatial econometric modeling.

SUPERVISION:

The QA reports to the Director of Information Technology and Research.

DUTIES:

Develop, identify, and apply appropriate statistical and spatial-econometric models to assess the potential economic impact of land development opportunities;
Analyze large-scale, internal and publicly-available, data to develop predictive models using statistical, econometric, spatial and machine learning tools;
Contribute to the construction and maintenance of internal databases;
Stay apprised of general macroeconomic news and support the analysis and communication of key emerging issues or public policy changes that could impact the community and economic development sectors;
Draft reports and presentations based upon analyses of data, published studies, and specialized knowledge;
As required, lead and participate in public meetings related to the Land Development Strategy;
As required, attend relevant conferences or training events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong foundation in statistical modeling. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a collaborative environment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Excellent communication skills. Ability to use good judgment, manage conflict and work flexibly in a constantly evolving environment. Proficient in using statistical analysis tools such as STATA, R, Python, SAS, or similar languages/statistical packages. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems is preferred.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in economics, econometrics, urban studies, urban planning, geography, statistics, computer science, math, business or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Range is $78,000 to $88,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
