We are rapidly growing our core team and are looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to maintain our dedicated and cloud based enterprise infrastructure as well as continuously improve our best IT practices. Ideally, you will have a background in the Life Sciences and been working with standard enterprise frameworks such as ITIL. Previous experience with ISO certification and GxP compliance would be a strong advantage, especially when combined with focus on paperless implementations.

You would be joining an inter-disciplinary team of extraordinary developers and scientists building the next generation scientific data management and analytics platform which is currently disrupting the multi-billion-dollar Biotechnology industry by enabling our clients to create better drugs faster.

Aigenpulse’ headquarters are in London with additional offices in Milton Park (South Oxfordshire). The successful candidate can choose which office to work from.

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining computing infrastructure within the company.
  • Promoting operational efficiency and reliability through automation.
  • Maintaining deployed hardware on client sites.
  • Communicating, coordinating and engaging with clients, to identify business needs, and the tools needed to address those needs
  • Working with in-house and external development teams to guide product development in the context of an Agile software development process
  • Helping to continuously improve technology roadmap for the company
  • Keeping up to date with on new technologies, particularly those related to High Performance Computing (HPC) and storage.


Your core skills:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent combination of skills/experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Life Sciences sector
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git, and project management tools such as JIRA
  • Experience using Docker or other lightweight virtualisation tools
  • Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services, or another cloud platform
  • Experience of supporting Enterprise servers in both Unix and Windows
  • Strong knowledge of open source web application services (NGINX, Tomcat, WSGI, MVCs).
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, traffic analysis, common protocols and network diagnostics.
  • A strong understanding of data security, ideally with experience of this in a research environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently

Your framework skills:

  • Experience with ITIL Service Operation (particularly Request Fulfilment, Incident/Problem/Change Management) and with significant experience of Service Transition.
  • Experience with data management regulations and policies and Information Lifecycle Management frameworks and solutions.
  • Experience with monitoring and event management, escalating and/or resolving issues highlighted.
