Job Description

The Senior Production Artist will create digital creative assets for use in test items for delivery via HTML5 and Web-based technologies and for print media, process images from outside illustrators for use in test items, and be involved in the design of new tests as they are being developed. In addition, the Senior Production Artist will assist the Test Production Team Manager in training the members of the test Production team, monitoring the day to day work of the team, and ensuring quality control procedures are met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop creative graphic assets using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
2. Layout storyboards for test items in InDesign following a set template and specs
3. Create, test, and debug test items and graphic assets in HTML 5 and CSS3
4. Process images using Adobe Illustrator CS6 for use in test items
5. Color vector graphics in Adobe Illustrator CS6 for use in test items
6. Advise Production Manager on new technologies
7. Successfully manage multiple deadlines
8. Track status of projects
9. Facilitate internal review of design work by the production team
10. Coordinate with language testing specialists to ensure quality control procedures are followed
11. Assist the Test Production Team Manager in overseeing the work of the test production team, including quality checking the work of other team members
12. Assist Test Production Manager in training members of production team and/or test development team in new technologies and procedures
13. Fill in for the Test Production Team Manager when assigned
14. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) degree in Interactive Design, Communications Design, or Multimedia Design preferred.

Experience:
Incumbent must possess proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite and experience designing creative assets for web, print and multimedia. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of interactive media, three to five (3-5) years of experience developing interactive items for web using HTML and CSS. Candidate will have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience working in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, experience with quality control of his/her own work, and a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience working in a team environment.

Desired Skills:
Excellent skills in the following areas are highly desirable: organization, planning, and time management; oral and interpersonal communication; writing, editing, and proofreading.

It is preferred that the candidate is comfortable working with vector graphics and has a strong sense of layout. Illustration ability is a plus. Past experience designing tests a plus. Experience coloring and processing images for web-delivery and print a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to help team members work within established deadlines. The preferred candidate must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude, and possess an ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment.
