Apply engineering principles to design and validate powertrain controls software that set the industry benchmark for performance, fuel efficiency, cost, reliability and safety. Provide software solutions for engine and aftertreatment ECUs (Electronic Control Units) from development through production.
Develop Heavy-Duty Powertrain Mechatronics software for engine and aftertreatment Electronic Control Units globally.
Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve work environment, systems, tools, processes as well as product cost and quality.
Proactively inform management of project issues, delays and risks.
Develop software requirements in cooperation with engineering sponsors from performance, emission, and OBD, production, and service functional areas.
Implement engine and aftertreatment control & OBD functions using model-based and C-programming languages.
Develop and execute unit level and system level test plans.
Use MKS Integrity to manage software lifecycle as part of a global development team.
Analyze, document, and work to resolve software engineering issues with cross-functional teams.
Support software deployment for trucks in reliability growth test, summer and winter tests, pre-series builds, production builds, and post-production field issues.
Improve competitive market position by keeping abreast of state of the art developments in software development technologies and apply the knowledge gained to assignments.
Align and prioritize assignments consistently with business goals and successfully implement and deliver projects on time.
Work independently and meet deadlines.
Other activities as necessary and/or assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1 year of related experience OR an Associate’s degree with 2 years of related experience OR 6 years of related experience required

Familiarity with Mechatronic Systems
Knowledge of micro-controller architecture
Experience with embedded software development using MATLAB, Simulink, TargetLink, CANape, CANalyzer, and C-programming language
Experience with CAN, UDS and J1939 communication protocols
6+ years of directly applicable engineering experience acceptable in lieu of degree (internal only)
Experience applying relevant engineering concepts and tools
