SharePoint Project Manager.


IRG is looking for a dedicated and meticulous SharePoint Project Manager to join our growing team associates. In the role, you will operate independently and as part of a team to ensure our clients’ SharePoint related projects are fulfilled with the highest efficiency and care. Suitable candidates should have proven, strong SharePoint skills. This is an opportunity for a candidate who has a deep understanding of team building, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Experience of managing projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost for large, complex projects
  • Knowledge of EY key stakeholders, IT policies, and processes
  • Experience of project management methodology, tools, and templates (includes program/project planning, schedule development, scope management and cost management)
  • Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises
  • Experience of delivery that includes the use of supplier and off-shore resources
  • Experience in managing to contract; ensuring clients and suppliers alike perform in accordance with the original agreement
  • Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure, ideally on an international basis
  • Management skills to manage one or more projects simultaneously
  • IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all project phases – plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement
  • Knowledge and use of industry-standard project methods, tools and techniques e.g. RAIDS, budget, communication
  • Strong team working skills across matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (includes negotiation)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
  • A leader in the use of IT methodologies, processes and standards for project management

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Self-starter and able to line / people manage other Onboarding co-ordination resources in remote locations
  • This role is expected to act independently to deliver the project to schedule, budget, and scope; support provided as required and requested, and is self-driven and motivated
  • This role leads project teams consisting of cross-functional, global, and virtual groups; directly supervises staff; assigns responsibility to members; monitors progress
  • This role coaches, mentors and supports less experienced project managers as well as other project resources as needed
  • MANAGERIAL AND SUPERVISORY DUTIES: In the context of Division functions and operations, provides:
  • Organizational Planning Establishes goals. Develops program plans and milestones. Assigns priorities. Develops policies and procedures. Projects budget requirements and allocates available resources.
  • Program Direction Communicates organizational goals. Keeps employees and other managers informed. Develops and establishes review systems to assist in achieving goals and results. Reviews costs, manage fiscal resources and maintains control over assigned Airports Authority resources and assets.
  • Human Resource Management Selects, assigns and develops employees. Delegates and assigns work. Evaluates employee performance and administers human resource management programs established by the Airports Authority. Ensures the application of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and adheres to EEO requirements.
  • Program Evaluation Reviews program quality and progress toward achieving goals on a periodic basis. Takes corrective actions to maintain work progress on schedule, improve employee performance or modify program goals or operations, as appropriate.

Other Requirements:

  • National and international travel may be required
  • Operating to project timelines (which may have peaks and troughs), client deadlines and may have to work to support global time zones at times

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • The qualifications listed below (if any) are preferred and may be considered in the selection process, but they are not required to be rated qualified for this job.
  • A Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Certification as a Certified ScrumMaster, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), and/or a SharePoint certification or SharePoint Applications certification.

Experience:

  • 8+ years in a corporate IT environment
  • 7+ years’ experience in project management
  • A proven background of success in dealing with governmental and institutional clients.
  • Other relevant experience in a related technical field (application development, deployment/implementation, and infrastructure)
  • Work experience in a professional services industry preferred

Certification Requirements:

  • Project management certification is preferred (PMI/CAPM or PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Familiarity with ITIL v2 or 3 would be advantageous

This is a per-project role paid on a contingency basis or on independent contractor (1099) basis.
