About the Opportunity
Northeastern’s Marketing Department, part of the university’s Office of External Affairs, seeks a highly collaborative, versatile, and creative Senior Copywriter to write sharp marketing content across a variety of platforms. You’ll join a team of brand storytellers, and partner closely with designers and marketing strategists to develop website copy, various print and digital assets, copy to support events and university initiatives, brand messaging frameworks, and more.
This position is a fit for someone who loves words and design, and thrives thinking creatively about how to bring stories to life. You’ll also need to be comfortable writing across channels—especially websites—and adapting to a range of tones and styles. The role also requires and understanding of website content strategy, attention to detail, and a deep curiosity about a range of subjects and the writing craft itself.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience writing and editing for a large organization or for an advertising/marketing agency, with brand experience
  • A comprehensive portfolio that includes multiple web projects working closely with UX designers
  • A knack for cutting through complicated topics and jargon
  • Ability to quickly learn the nuances of the Northeastern brand
  • Natural collaborator and excellent communicator who can articulate perspective and eagerly absorb feedback
  • Self-starter with a track record of delivering quality work under deadlines
  • Ability to toggle a variety of projects with agility and speed
  • Extraordinary attention to detail
  • Excellent people skills and a global-first, inclusive mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, creative writing, public relations, or a related field
