Job Description:: Temporary contract, 6 Months We seek a highly motivated and innovative scientist with a passion to apply biophysical techniques to drug discovery and target engagement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in biochemical and biophysical research including protein purification and expression and protein structure. The Research Associate will work within a team of biochemists and biophysicists to support recombinant protein production, characterization and small-molecule ligand binding for structural and mechanistic studies. Key Responsibilities * Recombinant protein expression and purification for use in biophysical and functional assays * Participate in experimental design and independently conducts experiments * Carry out biophysical protein-ligand measurements * Maintain clear records of experimental work and be able to organize, report and communicate their results Qualification: * MS (or equivalent degree) and 3-5 years of relevant employment experience, or PhD (or equivalent degree) and 0-3 years of relevant employment experience * Experience with biophysical techniques, hands on experience with SPR * Track record of protein purification of targets including multi-protein complexes * Experience in protein expression in multiple organisms (mammalian, insect, bacterial, etc.) * Previous use of manual and automated chromatography systems * Proficient in biochemical techniques (e.g. Western blot, SDS-PAGE, etc.) Preferred Qualifications * Experience in working with transcription factors and DNA binding is a plus * Self-motivation, organization, effective communication and presentation skills * Ability to navigate a fast-paced work environment * A desire to be part of a highly innovative company aimed at transforming the lives of people with serious diseases, their families and society
