We are seeking a Web Application Programmer to build web applications and back-end functionality for content managed websites.   • Develop, test, and support Ruby on Rails, PHP and Java web applications.

  • Develop and customize e-commerce websites often employing tools such as Spree Commerce, Prestashop, or Magento.

  • Utilize and develop APIs to build applications and connect diverse systems such as CRM, e-commerce, accounting and messaging systems or services.

  • Develop back-end and extended functionality for Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla CMS websites.

  • Develop software through the entire software development lifecycle while adhering to agile methodologies.

  • Develop mobile applications, native iOS or Android, as well as with PhoneGap.

  • Learn new tools and techniques for building great software.

  • Willingness and aptitude to move seamlessly between multiple programming languages, frameworks, and platforms.

  • Bring your own expertise to share with the staff and add to your experience by learning from others in a collaborative environment.

  • Administration and support of client sites hosted under Windows and Linux.

  • Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or related field from an accredited 4 year institution. Must have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.

  • 1 to 3 years of object-oriented design experience.

  • Experience in Ruby, PHP, and / or Java

  • Experience using MVC frameworks like Rails, Cake, and / or Django

  • Knows agile development practices, thinks they’re awesome, and is excited to use them.

  • Understanding of SQL and data modeling.

  • Experience with Git/Github/Bitbucket as a version control tool.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to work unsupervised both independently and in small groups.

  • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to handle multiple projects at once.

Desired skills

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and / or JQuery

  • Experience with Vagrant as a virtual development environment

  • Experience using Linux / Unix operating systems
