The Systems Engineer is responsible for the MD Helicopters network infrastructure and storage related environment, support, preparation, configuration and deployment of Server, Storage, Virtual, Active Directory and Backup infrastructure. Additional primary responsibilities include provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, patching, and maintenance of highly available VMware/HPE C7000/3PAR environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provide, up to Tier III support, investigate, and troubleshoot issues
Work with Systems Administrator/Leadership to manage Windows, Linux, and Microsoft Exchange
Participate in monitoring, capacity planning, and upgrades of C7000 and 3PAR storage
Maintain and support HP 3PAR storage arrays, Hyper-V/VMWare, Virtualization technologies
To configure and install the physical equipment and install configure O/S and patch management of all Servers, databases and applications.
Contribute to and maintain system standards.
Perform scheduled system patching and firmware upgrades.
Manage, audit, and augment Disaster Recovery solutions.
Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for administrative tasks.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Liaise with other internal teams and external suppliers as necessary.
Lead IT implementation projects.
Provide on-call support as needed to ensure high availability of systems and respond to alerts from monitoring services, investigating as necessary.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong virtualization, storage, and networking skills are required
Ten years system engineering experience
VMWare certification preferred
HP CS7000 and 3PAR, SAN technology experience required
HP OneView and vRealize Operations Manager experience preferred
The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate.
Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team.
Access to Export Control Information.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University in Computer Science or Computer Science Engineering and 10 years of work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
