Sales tax, state income tax, property tax, C&I, VAT and more. In a large office like Atlanta you would be in a practice such as sales tax but in a smaller office someone could be more of an indirect tax generalist. BTS - business tax services. This is more of the fed tax consulting practice. R&D studies and methods changes are the big services. I’m sure there’s other things that I’m missing. Not sure exactly how Atlanta handles their DSG (every office does it a little differently) but they are probably asking your preferences for which groups you want to have a rotation with. GCR will be your more traditional tax background with provision and compliance so I think every DSG should have experience there. Then maybe pick ITTS or indirect to see something different from GCR.
