I got a promotion, but the raise is minimal — only 10% — and lower than what I see advertised for similar positions.
There was an ad for the same position at my company two years ago, and even then the lower end of the salary range was 25% higher than what I was offered.
Is this because it’s an internal promotion? Or has the market really gotten so bad that salaries have dropped by 25%?
Do companies exaggerate salary ranges in job ads only to offer less in the end?
