I’ll be working 3-4 months from US office. I’d like to have a car. Car is important in US. Much more important than in other regions. I want to drive something relatively nice (at least rav4 class). What would be the least expensive route? 1) Turo - can get a nice car for $2k for 3 months but decent insurance at least doubles the cost 2) 2020 used car from dealership. Not sure how much will I lose if selling $30k car 3 months later to the dealership as trade-in 3) private 2016 $12k car 4) rental

I’m currently interning in audit (Big 4) but have had a pretty diverse set of internships, sales analytics for a Saas company, corporate finance for a hospitality company, and consulting at a boutique art equity company, and I’m trying to break into consulting post-grad, but I’m unsure how to frame my path without sounding scattered especially when I would be up against people that have a more linear path. Is the only realistic way through referrals?  Deloitte Simon Kucher & Partners Oliver Wyman

Is there a way to go to non-CPA accountant career path? I am a tax staff did audit provision and compliance in big 4. Trying to apply for jobs in industry, but every single of one is expecting you to get CPA in the near future. Looks like the career path is very narrow you either go get CPA or you will have a hard time to find job. Is there any other way to exit out being a CPA? It’s so draining and I can’t imagine I have to do CPE each year for the rest of my life just so I can have a job.

Incoming T-1 MSF (Grad. '28) targeting PE. Background: 2 years PWM and 3 years institutional AM. Did T-30 MBA (think Rice, UNC, USC) two years out of undergrad to move up internally at old firm. Doing MSF to improve technicals. Interests for IB/PE: Industrials, Special Situations, RE, Healthcare. Two Q’s 1. Path: IB/MBB → PE or attempt direct route into PE? 2. Should I focus on a specific group and how to get relevant experience? Need advice on the most viable path and positioning.

I am currently working as a Preschool Teacher, and would like to switch career paths. When I first started this job I thought I would keep it temporarily to figure out which path I wanted to take after graduating from college. I have a bachelors degree in Biological Anthropology. I am coming upon my 6th year as a preschool teacher and I feel like I am in too deep to switch paths. I am feeling lost and am unsure of how to go about a career switch. Any help or tips are appreciated. Thanks!

I have spent 13 years in Insurance. Fell in to the industry as an insurance broker and worked my way up to account exec role, I got fed up and switched to working for an insurer as an UW. Unfortunately I am still not enjoying it. I much prefer to be more active, hands on and do something that can make a difference. Struggling to find a route out to another industry doing something I would actually enjoy. Hoping to find a way out with retraining etc but unsure of routes to go down.

Career path advice- which path is better in long run 1. Sr Director corp strategy at F500 in a tech niche where I had great industry understanding, there is significant change with new ceo and leadership; want to do it to build operating capabilities/ track record over time, move into BU + fantastic comp + relationship with CSO 2. Commercial role in a big cloud provider (L6 equivalent) in slightly adjacent space, slightly lower comp, great brand, closer to impact, slower progression

Been off and on sales for several years because of the money but I’m definitely feeling the burnout. Just not having a good work life balance has been draining, especially recently and I’m trying to find/think of a different career path to pursue, but in my area nothing really pays all that well. I don’t have a degree, just worked my way up and ended up getting experience in a lot of different programs thought the years, just wondering what a good path to go down would be.

I just recently quit my job with nothing else lined up immediately. I've been applying for jobs in my area just not in the housekeeping/cleaning field, I love the work but it just leaves me drained at the end of the day. Ideally I'd love to branch out and work something closer to front facing customer service care but I'm having a hard time getting my foot in the door, is there any advice for seamlessly switching career paths?
