More great news! Amazon’s Q3 results provide the clearest evidence yet that consumer confidence is improving. Amazon delivered $180.2 billion in revenue (+13% YoY), North America sales up 12%, and e-commerce growth of 11%, all while crushing earnings estimates. As CEO Andy Jassy stated on the October 30 earnings call, “tariffs haven’t dented consumer demand.” Real-world votes of confidence far more reliable than any survey. Shoppers are still spending, and they’re spending more than expected.

I am sharing my experience with Amazon. Unbeknownst to me I was joining the Sub Same Day delivery network (SSD) as an external. There is no learning team. It's all "go to the start page" to get answers or slack a peer, etc. The particular site I am at is horrible metric wise and has been since launch. Benefits are awesome and so is 3 days off in a row. Compensation isn't bad at all, but I could make more going back to retail with much less stress. It's a fear based network. Do NOT recommend!

Is Amazon hiring? Or, I guess, is it hiring for/from the generalist pipeline in NYC? I had a loop that I didn’t pass back in 2023. Then I applied to a position that wasn’t a great fit the other day and got a rejection the day after. I think that in the past my resume would still go to the generalist pipeline if they were somewhat interested. So is it (mostly) me, or are they more or less not hiring? I noticed that there were very few US legal positions listed compared to years past.

Anyone work for Amazon as an EA? Any insight, input, work-life balance perspective: This is an in-office position under the umbrella of Amazon, but specifically for a zappos dot com / shopbop dot com role. I'm doing first round interviews soon after passing the pre-screen app & questionaire. I'm a hard working but not sure how stressful it will be. Second round interviews include a marathon 4-6 hours (sounds like a blast).

Amazon Data Engineer (L5) — Virtual (US) — Offer. I recently cracked it. Process: recruiter chat (30m) → 1–2 tech screens (SQL/Python/ETL + optimization) → loop 4–5 panels: SQL deep dive, ETL design, data modeling; Manager + Bar Raiser (LP-heavy). Prep: joins/windows/CTEs; nested JSON, sliding windows, dedup/late data; facts/dims, SCD, partitions; Redshift/S3/Spark. Takeaway: tech + LPs both key; ~4 weeks.

Amazon is so trigger happy to fire people that they couldn’t even wait until I was hired to fire me. They freakin rejected me from a job while I was applying for it! LOL It’s like companies nowadays are so trigger-happy to fire their employees so badly that they can’t even wait until the workers are hired before firing/laying them off! 😆 Amazon

Looking to get out of Amazon - does anyone have any suggestions for other companies in the DMV area for IT audit? So far I’ve been looking at Capital One, EY, Deloitte, PwC, KPMG, and Accenture - how does the culture compare to Amazon? Most important factors for me are stability and potential for growth (clear promotion guidelines)!

It is beyond tiring - checking Amazon jobs for any open roles and seeing there is PLENTY but only to countries OUTSIDE the USA! Nearly all opportunities to grow internally go to India, Costa Rica, Colombia, etc. Watching inflating prices of everything except wages! The job market is horrible but Im not giving up.

Amazon's been on a bit of a hot streak lately. They've won some Cannes and have a few interesting spots out for their health and prime verticals. Anyone got insight on what it's like working there in-house? Or with them if you're on the agency side?
