Do you flood the market and click the “easy apply” button on every job posting that you are even similarly qualified for, or are you more selective and try to stand out? In the last 5 weeks, my friend has applied to over 200 jobs using easy apply. I’ve tried to take a different approach, modified my resume for each job, checked the ranking of the ATS scanner, only applied to the company’s website or through a recruiter. Not sure which is better, just two people trying their best at the new job.

During a case interview, how is it viewed if a candidate struggled a bit understanding and structuring 1 math question, but they tried to offer ideas, were clear in what they were trying to understand, and eventually came to the correct math approach and solution? In addition, the candidate didn't struggle with other math questions, didn't make any mental math mistakes, and delivered good structured qualitative insights quickly. Thank you!

Hi everyone! I'll be graduating college soon (this December, yay!) and I had a quick question. I am an international student w/ an Economics degree. 0 internships so far (long story as to why) but decent campus involvement. I was wondering what the job application process looked like for someone who was/is in my shoes. How long did it take for you to get an offer? How many jobs did you apply to? What strategies helped? Did cold-messaging recruiters work?

Has anyone else felt like you basically have to do the job before you even get the offer these days? I’ve realized in this market, it’s not enough to just show potential. You almost have to prove you already know the ins and outs and can hit the ground running on day 1. I get why companies want that, but it definitely raises the bar during interviews. Are you all feeling that pressure too, or is it just me?

Is the truism true that interview candidates are seen as more attractive when they already have a job? That being employed, regardless of actual skill or fit, creates an implicit advantage? I’ve heard it framed as momentum bias, and I find this fascinating. How much of it is just flawed hiring logic masked as instinct? And why? https://www.scoutlogicscreening.com/blog/how-to-beat-unemployment-bias/

I've been thinking a lot lately about what happens when today’s juniors become seniors. If you spend your first few years letting AI handle the edge cases and memory management, do you ever actually develop the intuition needed for systems design? It feels like we're optimizing for today's tickets at the expense of future technical leads. Does anyone else feel this way?

How I look VS how I feel when someone ask me: ‘How’s the job search going?’ ‘Have you applied at XYZ?’ ‘Have you updated your resume?’ 😑 Do you share your job hunting nightmares with family and friends or do just vent amongst peers in the same boat as you to avoid repetitive questions or concerns that make you feel like you haven’t tried everything to succeed?

Hiring Biases 1.The 90-Second Rule: Around a third of interviewers form an opinion in the first 90 seconds. 2.The Smile Factor: Nearly 40% say a lack of smiling can hurt your chances. 3.The Doorway Effect: Judgement often starts the moment you walk into the room. Being prepared helps you make a strong first impression from the very start.

What’s the most unique way you’ve landed a job/internship? The job market right now seems so tough so I feel like going beyond just mass applying and finding other ways to connect with employers could give a potential edge if done right. Any tips on how to stand out in unconventional ways outside of just submitting an application to get noticed?

It’s always odd being on the job seeker side of the recruiter seat being a recruiter myself. Some recruiters feel transactional, and others genuinely advocate for you. I’ve learned the difference quickly. The ones who follow up, set expectations, and give context really change the experience. What’s something a recruiter did that stuck with you?
