"There's a sense of urgency" says recruiter. Then crickets..The recruiters' rush should not be(the candidate's) emergency. Candidates respond fast, hoping to land "next step" & ultimately the job. But, more often than not the recruiters' rush ends up being a time consuming game of calling, txting w/no response from recruiter. Recruiters; take inventory of the job, make sure it's ready to be filled, too many stories of "they went with internal candidate" or "they jumped the gun with the opening".
