This industry is a scam. I don't know why anyone would work here instead of tech. McKinsey reported 2% growth rate in 2024, literally lost to inflation (3-4%). This is a fatal structural blow to the business model + total failure to capitalize on AI growth. BCG/Bain not even in the picture. Would appreciate some advice on how to best prepare for a non-tech M6 role at Microsoft. Is there anything specific about Microsoft I should keep in mind? As a L7 at AWS I have a high level understanding of how to frame my scope, scale, and impact, but want to make sure I am super prepared.
