Anyone part of BCG’s Financial Institutions practice in Southeast Asia? I see that they are hiring for PL to Partner (I know it’s non-equity) for their FS practice on LinkedIn, I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate some insights. About myself: I have 3 years of consulting experience, made it to Consultant equivalent at MBB. Then another 3 years at in-house strategy teams at financial institutions at Manager leading a team, my direct report were all ex-MBB partners. Boston Consulting Group

EXIT HELP: I’m an S1 at PWC FDD making about 120k all in. I just received an offer in restructuring for a fund bout 250k all in. Obviously comp wise it makes no sense to not accept it, but I would like to hear if anyone has any idea of the type of work I’ll be doing. (I) Is it just a ton of legal work for negotiating capital structure terms? I enjoy the financial analysis aspect of FDD. (II) Also, not that I’m already planning on exiting, but I was wondering if there are exits if I hate it.

If a partnership is owned 25/75 and one partner buys the other out, that makes it a DRE. For the final 1065, would we really not reduce the capital accounts to zero despite marking the K1s final? I’m reading that’s the case since nothing was distributed and this transaction technically happened outside the p-ship. It makes sense but can’t say I’ve seen many final p-ships and K1s with balances other than zero. The optics are throwing me off. Anyone confirm? Reg citations to support? Thx!

If you haven't realized the game yet... 1.Pre/seed VC/PE firm with mostly private individuals as LPs make investments at super low multiples 2. Do some fugazi "value creation" 3. Series A, B, C firms with mostly institutional LPs where money is coming from pension/public funds makes an investment at super high multiples 4. All the funds with mostly private individuals as LPs make a killing and look to exit 5. The startup fails or goes public 6. All the middle managers get paid 7. ...

I got lowballed for the first time ever and it felt infuriating. The gist is that I got personally recruited by the startup CEO, had many rounds of conversations and even helped her scoping the role appropriately. Basically she wanted a head of finance to fix all the mess left behind by former fractional CFO and current accountant hired to run finance. The pay was $150k plus non meaningful equity. All that for being the sole finance leader in a 60 ppl organization. Laughable. Beware of crooks!

I’ve been working in the fincrime domain for ~2 years, starting at NatWest and later joining Revolut’s FIU after a 1.8-year stint at RBI, driven by an 80% hike and WFH. While the exposure and pay are good, the role is mentally demanding with long hours. Currently on probation and recently moved to a business vertical, I’m exploring a shift to entry-level finance roles. I’m CFA L1 qualified with a B.Com (Hons). Any ideas or suggestions?

“Recent SEC updates mean only specific FINRA licenses (Series 7/65/82)—not CFTC—qualify for accredited investor status. As someone licensed through the CFTC, I discovered I still need to meet SEC wealth or income rules. This affects my access to private fintech investments. Double-check your credentials to avoid surprises in today’s changing regulatory landscape!”

Hi All. A Revolut headhunter just reached out to me via LinkedIn for their Financial Crime Compliance Assurance Manager. I am quite hesitant about it since I was burned out before in a similar Fintech but in a 1st line of Defense Role. Is anyone here that can share about the culture and Work-life balance in FinCrime Compliance team at Revolut?
