Anyone been to Ischia? Curious to your opinion. I’m going to be working remotely from Italy for 3-4 weeks. Considering I’m working, I want to stay in 1-2 bases max. Also the place has to be chill/ish and non distracting with just enough to do at a slow pace, but not one that is super sleepy either. I do like some vibrancy and night buzz. In this context what are your thoughts on Ischia? I picked it because of the countless day trips from there if it gets boring. Thoughts? 🙏

Any pubco securities counsel (at any stage of career) a director on another pubco board? I see some of these directors who are far, far younger than I am and are part of this giant grift. Wondering how I have an in. Also a CPA/CFA with prior finance experience, too, and I think I'd be a good addition to an audit or NCG committee. But honestly, this actually does interest me, and I am wondering what the way to proceed/network.

Offer check - Securities Counsel at a pubco. $220k + 20% cash bonus + $45k in stock with a 33% vest over 3 years (refreshes annually). Current salary (same role at a different pubco) is $225k + 20% cash bonus (no equity). Both companies' stocks have not performed that great (both down substantially) over the last few years, if that means anything. Anything to try negotiating?

AmEx HYSA- anyone using it? Are there any concerns I should have? I'm thinking of opening a HYSA as I got an offer for $400 if I deposited $25,000 and keep them for minimum of 60 days. Currently using Marcus, which has slightly higher APY. I'm ok to diversify and split my savings across multiple HYSA, however didn't even know Amex offers a HYSA until I got the email.

Retool? 6th year in a niche corporate practice in Houston. The market seems decently busy here, and I’m starting to see more general corporate/M&A openings. Is the market busy enough to take a retool (with a cut of 2-3 class years)? I’m at a v50 but with a small Houston presence. I welcome any thoughts before I go down the road of engaging a recruiter, etc.

Just got an offer to be securities counsel in house at a pubco. One component of the role is to assist/lead M&A projects. I didn't really do a whole lot of substantive M&A at my firm (really just 34 Act reviews and capital market transactions). Curious what M&A looks like in house/how to maybe prepare.
