We use the regular black card machines, but the wifi isn’t great as I work in a very old pub so they’re slow. You get the classic “oh so it’s free then” and you can have a laugh. The other day I apologised for it being slow, and a guy looked at me, a woman, and said “the card machines obviously a woman then isn’t it” What do you even say to something like that? I get sexism all the time and don’t know how to deal with it. Advice?? I’m only 17 and already losing my mind over angry men/woman.

I’ve been at 2 other ABA companies before Mindcolor, & needless to say those other two were very unprofessional & didn’t pay much. I started at mindcolor & the staff was extremely welcoming, & well organized. the Staff definitely had a standard which was refreshing to see. They were very helpful when it came to needing help with learning a new data collecting website. they also make sure you are actually heard, & your ideas are being listened to, not dismissed. its been nice working here.

Last Black Friday at Best Buy Toronto, My friend was juggling a line that looked like it stretched to Mississauga when his manager whispered, “Act normal… the demo TV just froze on a karaoke app.” He turned around and there he was on-screen, mid-high note from last year’s staff party. Customers started cheering like it was planned. He kept straight-faced, said, “Limited-edition feature,” and somehow sold three TVs off his accidental performance.

Retail has Black Friday, and healthcare has… well, whatever this is. The day after Thanksgiving feels like chaos—phones ringing nonstop, people suddenly needing refills, and “I should’ve had this checked sooner” moments hitting all at once. While the world chases deals, we rely on teamwork and caffeine to get through the day. If you had to compare it to a Black Friday deal, what would it be?

I'm done with the blacks and I need different colors or color combinations in my wardrobe. I'm on the heavy side and it helps me with my confidence, especially my job involves a lot of people-facing, to wear clothes that make me look leaner. So black on black, or black-heavy, has always been my go-to. Can you suggest other colors or styles that have a similar slimming effect? I want a change so bad!!

Seems like a lot of last minute rug pulls happening. I keep getting emails from people saying they’ll use me for projects coming up and then two days later say “sorry, looks like we didn’t have the work we thought we did,” or “budgets got cut sorry.” Literally has happened three times in the last month. I’m starting to think I’ve been black listed. Anybody else?

I shouldn’t have to even think about this, but I have removed my picture from my LinkedIn profile because I am Black. My race starts working against me before an employer even notices my skills. I have been an RN for over 15 years and I have a Masters in Health informatics, yet my skin color gets me discounted or ruled out before I even get a call.

Came into my office this morning to find a small box of nerds on my desk. It had a note attached saying Happy Valentines Day. I appreciate the effort but we're almost two weeks past Valentines 😂 however I didn't say anything negative to anyone because the person who gave it to me is my boss! Maybe he just has a lot going on right now?

NEP comp check. $800k total for 2nd year NEP in NYC at V20. $600k base and $200k bonus. In speaking with partners at peer firms it feels like this is a little below “market” to the extent there is such a thing for black box NEP comp. Not counting K&E. Appreciate any data points.

What do you put in the "desired salary" box on applications when you have no idea what the company is offering? I’m applying for a few roles right now, and I hate seeing that blank field. Is it better to give a range or just one firm number? I want to make sure I am being realistic but also not underselling my experience.
