Anyone part of BCG’s Financial Institutions practice in Southeast Asia? I see that they are hiring for PL to Partner (I know it’s non-equity) for their FS practice on LinkedIn, I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate some insights. About myself: I have 3 years of consulting experience, made it to Consultant equivalent at MBB. Then another 3 years at in-house strategy teams at financial institutions at Manager leading a team, my direct report were all ex-MBB partners. Boston Consulting Group

Hi all, I'm currently a Senior Con in the TC Platforms Team. I was recently on a short BC stint where I was helping one of the Managers on a Business Case, and it was GENUINELY a great experience. There was lots of mind stimulating work and I was busy all day, and there was much to learn; how businesses organise themselves and how this specific industry works. All in all 9/10. And Manager was great too. REALLY nice. Now, I'm just wondering if there is anyway I can try to move from TC to BC?

      Career Pivot

      CONTRACT ROLE
      8mo

When I completed my bachelor’s degree in MIS, I considered it to be a stepping stone to ultimately finding a happy spot towards building a successful career. I have now worked 4 help desk roles, I’m burnt out and not interested in tech support. I was told the degree had variety and that’s what I want to explore, currently looking at BA roles. The role I applied to this morning, received a rejection an hour later. Not really interested in a cert, without a return on the value of the degree.

I was recently part of a mass layoff at a Big 4 firm. I have ~1 year of recruiting experience and almost 8 years in HR ops (mostly onboarding ops). I’ve applied to ~50 roles so far — rejected from 4 and haven’t heard back from the rest yet. I don’t have any certifications or HRBP experience, but many roles I’m seeing are HRBP-focused. For those in HR, which cert would be most helpful: SPHR, SHRM, AIHR HRBP, or HR Analytics? Or all? Also, should I keep applying now, or wait until I get a cert?

      Interview Tips

Just had an interview... the person interviewing me is by NO MEANS a subject matter expert. Not aware that Cisco reorganized their certs 5+ years ago and failed to mention on the post that a valid CCNA is REQUIRED. I'm working to renew mine and was told by everyone I went to advice to said "post it, you're working towards it." Hell, most job posts I've came across still list CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Securiy, etc on job posts, haven't existed since FEB 2020. Stop the Scam!

Employer perk is they will pay for $5k of certifications/classes in a fiscal year. I'm considering spending it on something in cyber or privacy. Maybe the CIPP/US and/or the CIPP EU. I think these subject matters actually would interact with my practice a bit, so my question are those the certs to get in this space? I'm not asking whether to take or not, just asking, assuming I want a cert in this area, what's the one to do. It's a use or lose perk.

I’m a PINO (partner in name only, not MDP) at BCG, master degree without PHD, do I have a shot in applying for EB1A through senior position, high comp and some public credentials (e.g., advisory committee member of a well known org, similar to CFA or GARP). Anyone has successful experience applying EB1A through non-academic competitiveness? Currently have approved 140 for EB2 but queue is long for Chinese citizen.

I know it’s not much and might not make a huge difference, but I just wanted to share somewhere that I just got my ISTQB Foundation Level certification! I’ve been trying to shift into a QA role without much luck so far, but I figured that even if this certification made a small difference I’d go for it. Has anyone else out there made the jump from a software/systems engineering role into QA, and how did you manage it?
