      Law

      Associate Attorney

Had a firm meeting where all associates were told that our social lives should be socializing and networking with other lawyers at bar association events. Was told it is now mandatory to join one from a list and get on the board and "get involved." Is it just me or is this ridiculous? No credit towards billable hours and I am expected to help market the firm for free on my own time. Is nothing in this field sacred? Have been involved on boards in the past and I would rather spend time with fam.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but my last job was in gov contracting (think Booz Allen Hamilton type of place) and I’m wondering if I’m allowed to 1) list the agency I worked with/for as a staff aug on my resume and 2) share the name of the agency in interviews….? I wasn’t working with CIA, and I was not doing top secret cleared work or anything, and I am not disclosing any sensitive work I did in my resume bullets. Can I mention client name or should I just say “federal client?”

      Job Searching in Accounting

I've just been approached by a recruiter about the possibility of working together to help me find a new role. This was very out of the blue and it came from an agency that I have never heard of before. I tried looking online for more information about the company but there is next to nothing at all and I've just been getting bad vibes from them. How should I proceed with this, is there a chance that this is a scam? I don't know what they could possibly get out of it if it is

Creatives who have been able to switch accounts at the same agency: mind sharing the process? Who you talked to, any bridges that may have been a little charred in the process? Been at the agency working for the same client for 3 years and looking forward to 2026 I think I need to start looking for a new job or move internally. Art partner’s on the same page but they’re looking into moving back to their home country which also means I may be partnerless soon…

New Business. The good, the bad, the ugly.

      Director of Business Development

I’ve done sales at a production house and a small creative/ media agency. Now gearing up to do biz dev for a full service heavy strategy focused agency start up. Would love to chat about how you all are reaching out what is working what isn’t working. Lots of change in our industry also would be cool to talk about small independent agency Vs holding company. I can tell you production house sales is really struggling so hoping agency leads to bigger and better things.

      Salary Negotiations

I was contacted by a temp agency to interview @ a company. I went and was offered $6 more per hour than what they told the temp agency was the max they'd go. I accepted b/c it was a good fit but I'm wondering what kind of negotiating I can do if they buy out my contract early or decide to hire me in? I usually negotiate for benefits, vacation days, increased pay for travel, etc. I've just never worked w/or thru a temp agency before.

I have been an employee of Northeast Family Services for over 5 years. The agency has helped me grow as a clinician and more recently as a supervisor. I always feel supported by my supervisor. The agency holds true to its high principles especially regarding client care and ethics. This aligns beautifully with my chore beliefs as a Social Worker. I will be with this agency for many years to come.

I spent the first 6 years of my career at agencies and have been in-house for the past 5+ years. It’s a fast-paced company and the pay is great, but my learning has stalled and I’m thinking of going back to agency to learn more. Has anyone done this, and what was the readjustment like? Also, would I be insane to give up a well paying job for an agency job in this market?

If anyone is willing to network for the purposes of referral, please DM me. I left consulting and want to get back - but I don’t want to go to my former firm. I’d like to connect on LinkedIn - I’m applying at Kearney, A&M, FTI and whoever else has an opening pop up but could use a referral and deeper network since most of my pre-consulting connections are in industry.

How hard is it to go from agency strategy to client side? (Ive mostly seen it happen with account roles.) Also, what level should I be targeting as a current VP in an agency setting? (Specifically really interested in Pfizer b/c of their digital & CX teams, but open to others and would love to learn from anyone else who went agency —> in house!)
