Has anyone here gone into customer success? I see so many customer success manager positions posted at various companies... I know many people hate on customer success, but the pay seems pretty good and it's not pure sales (I could never do sales). Does anyone have a positive experience to share about being a CSM at a big tech company like ServiceNow, Workday, or Salesforce...? Due to my less technical background, i qualify more for CSM roles than I do for pre-sale solution engineer roles.

My comp is up for review this year and I want to make sure mine is in the market ballpark. Can be hard to know in a black box. Seeking comp data points for non-equity track NEPs (i.e. the deal/expectation is that you stay NEP). Would be helpful to know your graduating year and breakdown of salary/bonus, if you're willing to share. Feel free to message me. Thanks! FYI I know there are a lot of variables that go into comp when you age out of the lock step scale. Just looking for a sampling.

I know this is a tech sales sub, but figured I’d ask as CS is sales-adjacent. Thoughts on the Customer Success Manager role in general going into 2026? Been in management consulting for several years, and am now looking to get into either a solutions engineer or customer success manager role. Noticing a ton of CSM openings at various companies. Have any of you gone from a sales role int a CSM role? Are you enjoying it? Why or why not? What’s the day-day stress/pressure like compared to sales?

Hi all! I’m a consultant with nearly five years of customer-facing experience, including acting as a CSM for clients immediately after go-live during major CRM implementations. That exposure to long-term relationship management, adoption, and post-launch success made me realize Customer Success is where I thrive. I’m currently exploring CS opportunities and am especially interested in a role at DoorDash. If anyone is open to sharing insights or providing a referral, I’d truly appreciate it.

Hey guys, I'm unable to find a single job in the CS market, I keep getting interviews but unable to succeed in any of them, I have over 5 years of experience in Customer support, sales,, moderation and worked with companies from all over the world including some big names like Amazon, I also speak 3 diffrent languages fluently but still can't find a good position, what are some websites i can apply on to find remote opportunities (I'm based in Morocco). Thanks in advance!

I applied for a CSR and it will involve phone, chat, and tickets. I’m great as a CSR but I’ve never had a phone desk job with these specs. What should I expect? The company is small, about 500 ppl, and I wonder how busy it will be. The pay is between $15-17, and I want the most. How can I ask for that and when? Been working for over 35 years, and I’m excellent with people, I’m just curious what they want for the $17 pay. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

PSA for sales leaders: If your comp plan needs a spreadsheet, 3 approval layers, and a legal team to interpret… it’s not sophisticated. It’s broken. The best plans? Sell X, earn Y. Exceed it? Earn more. No asterisks, no ‘adjustments,’ no clawbacks hiding in the footnotes. What’s the simplest comp structure you’ve ever seen work?
