Any one here work for a Credit Union. I took a job with a Credit Union a little over 2 months ago. I work in their IT department. One of my tasks (not mentioned in the Job interview or description) was essentally bombshelled on me is reloading the ATM with cash. This is an external ATM with lots of cash. An armored car and armed guard drops the cash off, and then I have to (unarmed) load it in to the machine. I work in a sketchy as hell neighborhood. Rated F on crime maps (continued)

Hello All!! It’s been a long time since I’ve been on this app but returning for some good discussion. I’m a single 33M and I have roughly 600k in liquid cash saved up. How am I doing in comparisons to others in my age from FIRE perspective and also what do I do with this cash? Keep in mind I have some religious restrictions on how I can grow this cash so I’m not throwing it in a bond but also I’m comfortable with risky investments.

So I’m looking to buy a property cash and it going for about $500k. I have about 250k cash including 150k I withdrew from a commercial real estate investment and I still have about 200k there actively generating income but the contract expires august I’m already up 23% ROI, looking at 45% or more by then. Although the same company i invest in qualifies me for a line of credit 300k for 27% and I’m tempted but at same time, hoping a property doesn’t sell in 3 months is absurd. What do you think?

I am a family doctor with 25 years of experience. I’m seriously considering switching to an integrative and functional medicine private cash practice. If you have yourself already made this type of transition, what has your financial experience been like? I would be setting up in the Irvine, Laguna, San Clemente area of Orange County, CA, so the amount of competition is going to be an unknown variable. Any advice from those who have made or making this transition would be greatly appreciated!

Seeing a lot of "survival math" on cash-out refis lately. With Treasuries at 4.3% and energy prices climbing, are you using home equity as a lifeline for debt, or sitting on cash for the June IPO window? Feels like the bowl is split… half are playing defense on high-interest debt, the other half are hunting pre-IPO entry multiples before the SpaceX S-1 goes public. Which camp are you in for Q2 Defensive (Refi/Debt) or Offensive (Secondary Market)?

Has anyone in here bought a house cash? This may be a future option for me and I’d love to hear from those who have done it. I think the peace of mind of no mortgage given our field is highly volatile would be amazing, plus I get to skip interest and “Islamic Financing”. Seems like a win, I know non Muslims would tell me I’m a idiot and I should be investing my money in some AI missile start up to 10x my return but they also don’t have any issue with perpetually living in debt

A cash out refinance with bad credit is still possible if you have enough home equity and stable income. Many lenders look beyond just your credit score. This option allows you to access cash while refinancing your mortgage, unlike a rate and term refinance. If you're in Texas, make sure to understand local rules. Always compare lenders and review costs before applying to make the best financial decision. https://dreamhomemortgage.com/refinance-advisor/

Cash is king they say. Times are hard and I like many others live paycheck to paycheck. Something I painstakingly did a while ago was build a small cash savings. I keep it in a safe at home for emergencies. Even on tight weeks it’s not touched. And if I do need it I work hard to replace it. How about you? Do you have an emergency fund? Even better, do you keep cash on hand at all? What are your thoughts on this concept?
