ive just started xmas temp role this week, and specified I wanted 40 hours at interview . I got the job and my manager said it’s a 8 hour contract. I can’t help to think that they were wrong for not advertising this in the first place. I’ve taken the opportunity because I didn’t want to be without 💰 and also not been working for the last 2 months. my colleagues did tell me they were given overtime, but I’ve only had one shift this week and the next is only two. What would be your advice

My PML has been rescheduling my monthly check-in since last month, which I understand given how busy one can get around this time. I was looking forward to today’s call which now has been pushed to April 22 and tagged as part of the mid-year 2026 discussion Last week, he also asked me to upload my CPA license to SSC. I’m a Senior andwithin promotion window, and I’m trying to read between the lines a bit here since there hasn’t been any direct communication of promotion so far. Any thoughts

I am planning to apply for the CCMP through ACMP. A few years ago, I got a graduate level certification that took me two years to complete with an accredited (but not ACMP approved) university. It was all class room time, 4 hours a week, but each class was 3 credit hours. So do I submit based on my hours soent in class or by credit hours. Unless I missed it, this isn’t cover on the ACMP site. When I emailed them the question, they said I need to submit my application to comment.

I'm in a dilemma. Ryt now I have 21k in student loan after poly. My salary is only 3k So I want to get a degree from a private uni like Kaplan that only takes 1.5 years to complete; it costs around 23k. There is another degree which cost only 5k in total bu,t it is not as great as Kaplan ..its just there to show that u have done a degree. In the future I plan to do CFA. So my question is if I am doing CFA , does it really matter if I get my degree from Kaplan or frm an avg Uni ?

Employer perk is they will pay for $5k of certifications/classes in a fiscal year. I'm considering spending it on something in cyber or privacy. Maybe the CIPP/US and/or the CIPP EU. I think these subject matters actually would interact with my practice a bit, so my question are those the certs to get in this space? I'm not asking whether to take or not, just asking, assuming I want a cert in this area, what's the one to do. It's a use or lose perk.

Listen, I get that it is generally important to dress professionally. However, it's 102 degrees where I'm located. Can't we agree it's okay to suspend the business casual dress code for a bit? Once the temp hits the triple digits, we should be allowed to wear shorts and sleeveless tops to the office. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk

Any tips or product suggestions to keep my 1 year old warm at night? We set the thermostat to 71 but the rooms heat unevenly. The bedroom temp drops to 66-68 at night. She wears long sleeve PJs and a woolino sleep sack. Blanket won’t work yet since she moves a lot. I’m guessing she wakes up at night because she’s cold?

It is -15 outside and somehow that still counts as a normal work day. My face went numb just thinking about going outside. Then I finally do go outside and instantly questioned every life choice that led me here. At what point does it get so cold out we all collectively decide to just stay home?

What do people think about this? I think it’s important to set rules like this especially when we don’t know how bad climate change could potentially get. What’s the maximum temperature you’d be happy to work in? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm2p1j4y0kro?app-referrer=deep-link
