I feel guilty every time I step away from my desk for a brain break even though I need it to reset and keep functioning. Everyone around me seems to be laser-focused all day, and I worry that taking 10 minutes to walk or stim or just breathe makes me look lazy. But without those breaks, I spiral: I lose focus, make mistakes, and get stuck in executive dysfunction quicksand. How do you deal with the pressure to work like a neurotypical when your brain simply doesn’t operate that way? Have you found ways to normalize breaks without feeling like you have to justify them?

Chubb is moving to a new office and asking employees to bring the keyboards/mice they were given to new office. They are acting like i was given a brand new keyboard/mouse which both were used when i onboarded. Now at the new office i need reserve a desk where i can’t leave anything at. I’m expected to remove my keyboard/mouse every day where i store in a locker that i also have to reserve every day. This all makes me feel so temporary and not valued. They call it purpose driven workspaces.

I received news that my 5yo has a terminal brain tumor. At the same time, my company underwent layoffs that eliminated the entire creative department, including my role. I’m now looking for a new opportunity, but I worry that my need for flexibility — to care for my child during treatment — might make it difficult to be considered. I’m still fully committed to contributing meaningfully wherever I work, is there space for someone navigating circumstances like mine? #disheartened

      LPN

Been an LPN for 6 yrs. I pride myself with patient care and meticulous charting. I had a patient tell the physician that I did not obtain their vitals. I had documented on the appropriate docs that the physician takes into the exam room. I am at a loss. Either the patient is delusional or hallucinating. After being accused of this I took another set of vitals with the physician present and their vitals were identical except for a slight variation in the bp. Has this ever happened to anyone?

      Controls Technician
      7mo

Hey I’m looking to land another controls position in automation. I used to do intermediate level PLC programming and troubleshooting at my previous employers until personal life circumstances changed. I have been a multi-craft/automation mechanic for 10 years and have a 2 year degree in computer engineering. This field is my passion as it actually stretches me to grow faster than maintenance tech jobs. Any tips on skillsets and certifications to be considered for a controls engineer/tech?

Xi’s biggest concern is not economic prosperity. It is political survival: lethal factional struggle inside the CCP, a massive youth population losing hope and refusing to keep running the “hamster wheel,” drained family savings and pension funds supporting three generations, and domestic consumers who no longer feel secure enough to spend or plan for the future. “Lying flat” 躺平 and "Let it rot" 摆烂 is not laziness. It is a social vote of no more confidence in CCP's leadership.

      Direct Support Professional

I have an abundance of experience working in many settings supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. In my current role as a Direct Support Professional; I have realized that I have more potential to make an even greater impact on those supported in the community. Besides becoming a Planning Support Specialist or a Coordinator of Community Services; what other roles would someone suggest? I don't want to be a manager but open to ideas. Thanks 🙂

I just learned that, 43 million adults in America are functionally illiterate; they cannot perform simple tasks like reading a prescription drug label or understanding simple forms. I think we can agree that it’s in the home where kids get their most basic skill development such as in the area of language. And, we know that ‘Language’ development is literally the bedrock of reading development. cont
