Securities counsel at public company - path to CLO or GC? Hi all, I am a capital markets associate at a BL firm and my desire is to be CLO or GC of a public company (I know...way easier said than done and yes, I know that the work load is probably insane...but it's nonetheless something I am aspiring to). My question, and I get that it's probably too late now if the answer is no, is being securities IHC at a pubco a viable path to CLO? Curious what people's experiences are down this path

For those who have multiple millions of dollars invested, do you keep it between two or less brokerages or have you diversified across 3+ brokerages? I’m conflicted because I like the simplicity of two or less for myself and eventually who inherits my assets, but SPIC doesn’t cover the full amount under their insurance. Currently have about 2M at Fidelity and at Merrill, but wondering if I should add/move some funds to others.

I just saw two post back to back from two different agencies about a Clio Health award win for the same work. The work was “Relax your tight end”. The two agencies were Digitas Health and Fallon. I read an article that said Fallon was the lead agency. A google search said Digitas health made the work. Does anyone have the inside scoop on each agency role on this project?

Thinking about the pivots I have from here to enter into a higher pay role and stronger competitive differentiation. Recruiter for a corp securities role at a pre IPO company said I would be given a “project” to do as part of the interview process. I’ve heard about hypos or written assignments being given for commercial roles, but what could it be for corp securities?? And can anyone share what they’ve seen (even in non corpsec contexts)? I recently received an offer at Guidehouse for what I am told is a C3 position. I am currently a Consultant at Deloitte up for promo to Senior Consultant next year. I wanted to understand if C3 is equivalent to C or SC, because I have seen some mixed answers online. Anyone have any insight to offer? Thanks!

Interesting watching CLA take a moral stance against offshoring. A friend of mine just left CLA, and it got me wondering — how do they actually compete and make money at scale? Are they a single, fully integrated firm, or more of a partner network where each office operates somewhat independently?

I am only CompTIA CSSS, CompTIA CIOS, CompTIA CLNP, CompTIA CNIP, (stackable) CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network +, CompTIA Server +, and CompTIA Linux + Powered by LPI (core certs) and I only had 2 pho Edmonton interviews i a month. I have 28 years experience, 20 also in Cybersecurity,but no luck.

I've noticed an uptick in the combo Chief Legal and Administrative Officer role. Appears to be a newer role in the C-suite that's gaining traction. Is this a generally favorable expansion of the CLO role? Or is it a dilution or diminution of the legal function at the executive level?

Can someone who does CFIUS or work with OISP/OFAC (or anything related to trade, exports, sanctions, national security) explain what they do on a day to day basis. Do you find the work enjoyable and make your billables? I’m interested in this practice and would love to learn more.
