Mostly here to vent. I know AI in production has been used sparingly over the last few years when it comes to projects I have been working on. When I say that, I mean it has been used to clean up a shot or throw some VO over a demo for client presentation…but in the last month I am working on three projects where the solve has been using generative AI to produce a lot of content in a short amount of time. This is has been due to poor planning, budget, and client expectations. (Continued below)

I recently completed a contract-based project through Mercor focused on evaluating state-of-the-art coding agents, and it was one of the most technically rewarding experiences I’ve had. Unlike many "AI training" gigs that focus on basic syntax, this project required deep-diving into massive, production-grade codebases (200+ files) and executing complex, multi-turn engineering tasks. Overall, my experience with Mercor was excellent, as the project guidelines were well-defined and professional.

I am leaving becouse there is NO more work there I have decades of experience in Polymerics and electrical building circuit boards wire harnesses and doing the Polymerics on them I work in the Polymerics lab and the electrical lab I work were they need me the most It is In Boulder CO at LASP I am trying to find what my market value is ? I know startups these days are tech focused, anyone interested in something more physical? I am looking at an agricultural co-op based on Italian models, where farmers pool capital and own the entire value chain. Either small specialty dairy or meat farms where output is process in a co-op facility and then sold either DTC or wholesale. This means no middleman squeezing the farmers and much higher margins for them. can still have same corporate style benefits like insurance, PTO, etc..

I recently graduated with my PhD in Analytical Chemistry. During my PhD, I researched surface modification and electrochemistry for CO₂ reduction, gaining hands-on experience with PVD, XPS, etc. Although I recently graduated, I have been applying since October, albeit unsuccessfully.
