Coinbase - UK Please is there anyone here who knows if Coinbase has a Sponsor License in the UK or works with them ? I’m in the middle of interviews with them and on my intro call the recruiter did mention that they wouldn’t sponsor for the role which is fine for now as I still have the right to work in the UK for another ~2 years. They did mention this can be discussed in the future though. They are not on the UKVI list but I know some companies choose not to be publicly listed. Please help🙏

Welcome to the new edition of the Fintech Wrap Up! This week showed how scale still matters, but only when backed by strong infrastructure. Bank of America’s consumer bank generates over 41 billion dollars in revenue and 10.8 billion dollars in profit, yet retail banking continues to miss on personalisation despite high customer expectations. https://open.substack.com/pub/samboboev/p/coinbases-strategy-map-baas-vs-embedded?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

Fun fact: The most valuable crypto company in the world was started by a guy whose only previous tech or finance experience was running a for profit World of Warcraft in-game gold mining operation. Brock Pierce, the founder of Tether, ran a for-profit World of Warcraft in-game gold mining operation before starting Realcoin, the precursor to Tether. Tether, the company, is now worth $500B, makes $20B/year in profit with 200 employees and $186B in USDT has been minted so far.

Dynamic currency conversion (DCC) is a financial service used in international transactions, when a customer from one country makes a credit or debit card purchase in another. DCC allows the transaction to be processed at the point of sale in the currency of the cardholder’s home country. The global credit card payments market is forecast to jump from $524.9 billion in 2022 to $1.2 trillion by 2032, and cross-border payments are an important piece of that growth.

If you are in crypto to retire like normal working class people, then BTC and ETH should be sufficient. However, if you are retiring your bloodline, you may need smaller market cap coins. This isn't financial advice. Think about the most popular narratives this cycle. AI, Real world assets, gaming, etc. I'm in things like $BEAM, $SUPER, $GPU, $RENDER, etc. But you should do your own research. I would start with www.coinmarketcap.com. Good luck.

I have been watching companies like Robinhood and Coinbase (among others) to see what products they develop since they currently can pivot faster than your big banks like Chase or PNC. Robinhood has a product for that offers staking for ETH. One of the catches is Robinhood takes 25% of the “profit” from the staking. 25% seems high - like highway robbery high. Those who might be staking elsewhere - who are you using and how much do you keep?

I’ve truly enjoyed my experience working at LinTech Global. The company emphasizes transparency, and the culture encourages open communication and shared success. What stands out most is the focus on professional growth and long-term retention. I’ve had opportunities to learn new things, expand my skills, and continue building a career in an environment that invests in its people. I’m grateful to be part of a team that values both performance and people.

Has anyone reported capital loss due to coin platform bankruptcy like Gemini, Voyager or Blockfi? Or do you still need to wait to report loss due to bankruptcy until they are completely liquidated and paid out and no longer available? (still getting emails about either payout or proceeding or just general emails from them in 2025). What is the right way to go about it?
